Endorsements & Awards

The Ohio School Boards Association announced on April 28, 2008 its endorsement of Leader Alert, a health and safety alerting product, for the more than 700 Ohio public school districts that comprise its membership.

According to OSBA Deputy Executive Director Rob Delane, OSBA studies and testing pinpointed three key reasons for their choice of Leader Alert.  “One, it was easy to use.  Two, schools can use it with their current technologies, and three, it can effectively notify large numbers of individuals almost simultaneously.” Delane stressed the benefits that the endorsement provides for member schools. “School boards count on OSBA to do the appropriate research before lending its name to a particular product or service. OSBA’s research indicates that Leader Alert is superior to other alerting systems and cost effective for school districts.” (Graphics: Leader, OSBA) More

Andy Kopplin

Lousiana Emergency Operations Center, Baton Rouge LA

I really appreciate Leader's support and responsiveness to us immediately after the storm when we needed a communications solution quickly, and you all delivered."
- Andy Kopplin, 2008
Former Chief of Staff
Governor of Louisiana

Andy Kopplin is one of the unsung heroes of the Hurricane Katrina (and Hurricane Rita) disaster recovery. Andy was Chief of Staff for Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco. The job fell upon him to organize the state's response to one of the largest natural disasters in the history of the United States. Andy delivered, by everyone's account, including Leader's, who moderated the nightly 2-hour conference calls of recovery officials that Andy facilitated with uncanny calm and poise.

On August 28, 2005, the day the levees broke in New Orleans, the Louisiana telephone network was crippled for in-state calls, but citizens were often able to call out of state due to the way phone network switches handle call loads. Andy called Leader for assistance. Leader provided 24x7 audio conferencing, alerting, and news services to the state's recovery, helping coordinate all federal, state and local resources. Leader essentially became the primary phone switch lifeline for the many months of life saving and recovery that followed the storm.
